The Bethel Community Storehouse in Moriarty was established in April 1987 by the Bethel United Methodist Church Missions Outreach to provide food and clothing to those in need in the greater Estancia Valley. In December 1989, it expended into an inter-faith community mission and was incorporated as a non-profit entity in February 1991

Membership on the Board of Directors includes representatives from various churches and service organizations from the surrounding area.

A permanent home for the Storehouse was purchased in February 1991 and is located on the corner of HWY 41 and Center Street in Moriarty. In 2002, an 8000 s.f. store was added on and the original building was remodeled to include a reception room for our clients, a larger food pantry, a larger sorting room, and an office.
